- Top rung 3, middle 2, bottom 1. Count only bolas still hanging once everyone has thrown. Bonus: 1 for three on one rung, or one on each rung.
- Exactly 21 wins. A round that would take you over doesn't count: write 0 and keep your total.
- Two players on 21 in the same round: play on until one ends a round 2 points ahead.
