What each card is worth
When a player goes out, add up the cards left in the other players' hands, on the side in play. The player who went out scores the lot, and everyone else scores 0 for the round.
- Number cards, 1 to 9
- Face value
- Draw One, light side
- 10
- Draw Five, dark side
- 20
- Reverse, both sides
- 20
- Skip, light side
- 20
- Skip Everyone, dark side
- 30
- Flip, both sides
- 20
- Wild, both sides
- 40
- Wild Draw Two, light side
- 50
- Wild Draw Colour, dark side
- 60
These aren't the values of classic Uno, where a Wild is 50 and a Draw Two 20. Uno Flip has no zeros: the numbers run from 1 to 9 on both sides.
Which side to score
Every card has a light side, with a white border, and a dark side, with a black border. You start on the light side. Each time someone plays a Flip, the discard pile, the draw pile and everyone's hands turn over, and play goes on with the other side.
When a player goes out, look at which side is in play and score every hand on that side. The same hand can be worth far more, or far less, on the other side.
If the last card played is a Draw One, Draw Five, Wild Draw Two or Wild Draw Colour, the next player still draws, and those cards count in the score.
The light side
- Draw One
- The next player draws one card and misses their turn.
- Reverse
- Play changes direction.
- Skip
- The next player misses their turn.
- Wild
- Choose the colour to play next. You can play it even when you have another card that would go.
- Wild Draw Two
- Choose the colour, and the next player draws two and misses their turn. You may only play it when you have no card of the colour in play.
- Flip
- Everything turns over to the dark side.
The dark side
- Draw Five
- The next player draws five cards and misses their turn.
- Reverse
- Play changes direction.
- Skip Everyone
- Every other player misses a turn, and you play again.
- Wild
- Choose the colour to play next.
- Wild Draw Colour
- Choose a colour, and the next player draws until they get a card of that colour, then misses their turn. As with the Wild Draw Two, only when you have no card of the colour in play.
- Flip
- Everything turns back to the light side.
You can challenge a Wild Draw Two or Wild Draw Colour played on you. If the player had a card of the colour in play, they draw instead of you. If they didn't, you draw what you were given plus two more.
Stacking and house rules
The rules don't allow stacking. A player hit by a Draw One, Draw Five, Wild Draw Two or Wild Draw Colour draws the cards and misses their turn, so they can't pass them on with a draw card of their own.
Plenty of families stack anyway. If yours does, agree before you deal, because a stack of Draw Fives can leave someone holding a lot of points.
The other way to score: lowest wins
The rules give a second way to score. After each round, every player adds up the cards left in their own hand, on the side in play, and the player who went out writes 0.
When one player's total reaches 500, the game ends, and the player with the lowest total wins. The card values stay the same.
A scoring example
Three players, three rounds. In round 1, Ana went out on the light side. Ben held a 6, a Skip and a Wild, and Cleo held a 2 and a Draw One.
| Round | Ana | Ben | Cleo |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · light side | 78 | 0 | 0 |
| 2 · dark side | 0 | 123 | 0 |
| 3 · light side | 97 | 0 | 0 |
| Total | 175 | 123 | 0 |
Round 1: Ben's 6 + 20 + 40 = 66 and Cleo's 2 + 10 = 12 gave Ana 78. Round 2 ended on the dark side: Ana's Wild Draw Colour and 4 (64) and Cleo's Draw Five, Skip Everyone and 9 (20 + 30 + 9 = 59) gave Ben 123. Round 3: Ben's Wild Draw Two (50) and Cleo's Reverse, Flip and 7 (47) gave Ana 97.
Scored the lowest-wins way, each player keeps their own cards instead: Ana 64, Ben 116 and Cleo 118. Either way, Ana is in front.
Keep score for Uno Flip in Tallynight
Uno Flip isn't one of Tallynight's built-in games yet, but it takes a minute to set up. Choose Something else, then Rounds, with the highest score winning. Turn on Play to a target and raise it to 500.
After each round, type the winner's points and 0 for everyone else on one keypad. Tallynight doesn't know which side you ended on, so count the cards on the side in play first. Playing the lowest-wins way? Pick Lowest instead, and type what each player was left holding. Add it to your favourites and it's ready next time.

Uno Flip score sheetQuestions
How do you score Uno Flip?
The first player to go out scores the cards left in everyone else's hands, on the side in play when the round ends. Numbers are face value, and the other cards are worth 10 to 60. The first player to 500 wins.
How many points are the cards in Uno Flip?
Numbers 1 to 9 are face value. Draw One 10. Draw Five, Reverse, Skip and Flip 20. Skip Everyone 30. Wild 40. Wild Draw Two 50. Wild Draw Colour 60.
Which side do you score in Uno Flip?
The side in play when the round ends. If the last Flip turned everything to the dark side, count the dark side of every card left in the hands.
Can you stack cards in Uno Flip?
Not by the rules. A player hit by a Draw One, Draw Five, Wild Draw Two or Wild Draw Colour draws and misses their turn. Stacking is a popular house rule, so agree on it before you deal.
What does Skip Everyone do in Uno Flip?
Every other player misses a turn, and play comes back to you, so you play again straight away.
What does the Wild Draw Colour card do in Uno Flip?
You choose a colour, and the next player draws until they get a card of that colour, then misses their turn. You may only play it when you have no card of the colour in play. It's worth 60 if it's caught in a hand.
Is Uno Flip scored the same as Uno?
The idea is the same, but the points differ. In Uno Flip a Wild is 40, not 50, a Draw One is 10, and the dark side's Skip Everyone and Wild Draw Colour are 30 and 60. The numbers run from 1 to 9, with no zeros.
